2/2/16
Sunday was rough. I wasn't quite sure what to do about all the sadness and unrest around me on my pew during Sacrament. Jaxon didn't feel well, Wil had a sore neck from falling snowboarding, Madison was upset that she wanted to be somewhere else and Ava sent me a note saying she felt like puking. What in the world!!! So I sat and thought during the sacrament about what could I do. I should have been thinking about the Savior but I just didn't know what to do about these children of mine. Luckily Greta and my niece Abi were perfectly content. I decided to start praying so I prayed that they would feel the spirit that day, that they would know they were doing the right thing and that they were in the right place and that hopefully none of them were really sick. Madison fell asleep and Jaxon kept looking miserable and Wil took an ibuprofen. Ava seemed to recover from her issue and again Abi and Greta were happy. After the closing talk I felt the spirit and was wiping moisture from my eyes when Madison and Jaxon started getting concerned for me. I mean Mom isn't supposed to cry right. As I walked to the Library I saw Sis. Schlattman, Madison's teacher and my friend in the hallway. I had this immediate feeling that Alicia would fix everything and I wanted to run to her and tell her I was so grateful that she was there. I went and talked to Ginger for a few minutes and felt much better, then I proceeded down the hall to go teach Ava's crazy primary class. The 6 year olds did great and we had a great lesson on Choices and Agency. Then I found the rest of my kids. Madison told me that Sis. Schlattman brought chocolate chip cookies and she started crying the minute that she saw them. She was so hungry and so unhappy and the cookies meant so much. She also said she started feeling the spirit when her attitude changed. Then Jaxon got out of his presidency meeting and informed me that Bro. Murray was the coolest. Greta was a little upset that I gave away some of her marbles she had colored with finger nail polish but all in all I was blessed and my prayers had been answered.
