Update on Wil - Not much to tell 4-1-09
Wil is doing good - normal as ever - can't tell he almost gave me a heart attack. We haven't heard anything new since the Cardiology Pediatric Specialist. Our doctor did have us come in last Friday because she wanted to see Wil's "birthmark" on his back that the cardio specialist had talked to her about. She (our doctor) then talked to several specialists that day and Wil is now scheduled for an MRI on April 7th. We are hoping to rule out Tuberous Sclerosis or anything similar that would cause Wil to have this type of "episode" or seizure. After the specialists look at the results of the MRI we will go from there about doing an EEG or anything else that will tell if he had a seizure and if so what kind.

That was probably a seizure. They are actually called complex partial seizures. Do NOT go back to that doc, becaus he obviously knows nothing about seizures. What we have found w/Cole is that most docs know very little about seizures and if you do not want to medicate for them, they really do not want to talk about more options. Cole's started when he was 4 and they follow a pattern. Write down everything (the time, length, his mood before, what he ate that day, mood after, etc) and keep an ongoing record. This will help you track patterns and possible causes. This will also help to judge if they are getting worse. I pray that it is just a fluck and Will will be trouble free. Seizures quite often follow a pattern (only in the morning, only at night, only when sick, only when tired) or a time pattern (every 3-4 weeks, a grouping every 4-5 months, etc) Day dreaming (spacing off) can also be a form of very mild seizures, but while doing so the child will be non or limited responsive. Good luck. We ran the gamet of tests many times over and quickly came to the realization that the medical community do not know much about or care to find out about seizure disorders. Kids are pretty tough little nuts. They can rebound w/out any effects at all from tons of things. Chances are Will will be fine and before you know it he will be asking Paul for the car keys.
