Overview: Treat Copper for myelopathy, Rehab at Saint Als hopefully, and her Rheumatologist appointment on March 11th, possibly an autoimmune problem also but that’s the Rheumatologist’s job.
Already did PT today, shower, etc.. watching a show her grandson Wil recommended.
Friday 3/1/19 Ruth will be staying here at Saint Als until Monday. Her Case Manager says Rehab has taken an interest again and is going to look at her again on Monday. Karla, case manager, is submitting her records etc to 2 facilities outside of the hospital just in case she doesn’t get in on Monday to the hospital rehab but we are all hopeful. And she would rather stay right where she is and do her infusions here with the hope of rehab changing their minds. Our 2nd choice which is outside the hospital can’t do the infusions (so she would be moved after all infusions), waiting to hear on our 3rd (whether they can do the infusions).
Today is a good day. Been up in her chair all day. Already did PT. And found someone in the staff that can help with Netflix if it goes off. 😉
* Found our that Copper is a speciality infusion. Found out that none of the assisted nursing facilities for rehab can give them. But they could facilitate her going to an infusion clinic. Hopefully on Monday we find out that the hospital rehab has accepted her and it’s not something we need to worry about. Otherwise they will wait until she’s done with the infusions for her to go to a facility outside the hospital or we will look into the facilities facilitating her going to an infusion clinic. She will have five days of infusions of copper.
* Oral supplements after infusions but the research I did said that a lot of times oral supplements are not absorbed just like copper isn’t absorbed out of what she’s eating. So we will see. The neurologist will take care of that. I would predict she will need infusions however often she needs them. If we are lucky, then she can absorb the oral supplements after her five days of infusions
