Update from Linda
Hi to all you wonderful family and friends,
Jack was transferred out of ICU late Tuesday night to the Neuroscience Ward. He is doing ok. He continues to have headaches, leg aches, fever and elevated blood pressure. All of which are being treated with medication. Today one of his doctors reported to me that all his tests are clear and show great improvement - the tests include blood cultures and lung x-rays. Jack's heart did experience a little trauma on Thursday night when his blood pressure dropped to a rate which most people don't live through. The doctor said he pulled through because he is a strong fighter.
Wednesday he showered and shaved himself. The physical therapists helped him to a stool which he sat on while he showered. He was completely exhausted afterwards. He had 2 movements in his right leg yesterday - we were both thrilled about that.
Last Thursday when he passed out at home his heart never stopped beating and his lungs were continually working. He was put on oxygen because he aspirated. There is worry about phenomena when this happens. As I said his lung are completely clean out now and both is heart and lungs are working as they should be.
The doctors are very confident that he will recover completely. We have been told to be patient.
We are grateful for JoLeta coming to be with Jack. Also for Joella, Josh and Matt and their family members who have spent many hours at the hospital. Jack has been aware of your prayers and well wishes. Thank you so very much! We are very grateful for life itself. Jack says we have a lot left to do on the earth!
We love you all and hope this finds you happy and healthy.
