2-3-09 Update 5

Hi Everyone! A quick update on my dad. He is still improving every day and is planning on coming home on Wed. A few days ago he received his own walker to take home and has learned to go up/down stairs, maneuver rooms, and various other things. Every day he receives more movement in his right leg, it is amazing how much movement he has in his leg now. Yes he does walk on his right leg, he can lift it up and down. He is still on pain medication for his head/lower body and is also taking a blood thinner for now to help with the blood clot at the bottom of his spine and because he isn't as mobile as he needs to be right now to be taken off of the thinner. In the hospital he has had speech, physical and occupation therapy and has been able to do everything they have tossed at him. That is all I can think of for now. Every day he works hard with his therapist and improves daily. Let me know if you have questions and if I don't know the answer I will try to find out. Joella
